Someone recently asked: “What’s with the name? Are you a Christian band?”

The answer was no. But I started to dwell on this. It had never occurred to me. The name was pulled from the Egyptian Book of the Dead. I read it as a teen and the phrase stuck with me. I read the Bible too but that mostly for fun.

It’s always easier to say no to people like that, though. I wasn’t interested in proselytizing…like I am now.

I believe in that which exists and has existed. I believe in facts, in the here and now. I don’t agonize over false morality or the need to conjure ghosts. I don’t rely on the impossible–or extremely unlikely–to make my life meaningful.

I am an atheist. Do as you wish with that info.
